Leaving Party (part 1)

So, it is moving closer and closer. I will now be leaving on a jet plane in approximately 5 days, 8 hours and 22 minutes. The days are moving by quickly, and I just gathered enough time to sit down and write about the leaving party my best friends in Sthlm threw for me on friday (14th of january).

Since I am a very well-organized person, I never thought further than that I myself would be planning this get-together. But when I spoke to Hanna she was determined to throw me a Leaving Party. I quickly accepted, well surprised and very happy.

On came friday, the day following my Productive Day, and I must admit that I was a bit worried when I could not get a hold of Hanna at half past five, since she was the one whom was to prepare everything, the main organizer. For a second I wished that I had planned it all myself, but I quickly stopped worrying when Hanna rang me and informed the menu of Bruschetta, Lobster Soup and Vanilla Pannacotta. mmmmmmmmmmmm... She was on her way. Excellent (putting the fingers together like Mr. Burns does in The Simpsons, but thinking good instead of evil thoughts).

Not long after this we sat down and had dinner. The bruschetta was bruschetta, The soup was amazingly amazing and the pannacotta was a grand finale. Unfortunately, I did not take that many pictures, but here are a few:

Hanna caring for her amazing lobster soup in the kitchen.

Karin eating one of my tulips, whilst the other Karin is watching curiously.

The dinner table (and no, I am do not need an exorcism, just not one of my most lucky shots).

The Lobster Soup à la Hanna (I get hungry now just thinking about it, although I went out to dinner not too long ago).

I would like to take this opportunity and say:

First and foremost, thank you all for being such wonderful friends to me. And also, let me remind you again to get skype so that we can keep in touch properly when I am gone.

Hanna – Thank you for the fabulous meal and for wearing a turban, that is just awesome.
Brandell – Thank you for the speech, it almost made me cry, and also for bringing your party plans together with mine so that I got to keep you longer!
Tove – Thank you for sharing so much with me and listening to me more than most people.
Josie – Thanks for dressing up so that my party felt like one of those you see on pictures, wanting to be in and for making me your number one priority during the days I visited.
Wannerberg – Thank you for being such a spontaneous and open-minded spirit, it truly is refreshing.
Johanna – All the way from Gävle, just to see me, you are to sweet to be true =)
Sara – “Half-past-eight-at-your-place”-dinner-team is a group of people I hope shall never split up in any direction. Thanks for showing up!
Ida – Thanks for fighting jetlag to come give me a hug. So cool that you will be in NYC in my flat during the summer! YEY! And also, sorry about the cork in the sparkling wine…, at least it was on me.
Demetrius – “Love is Love”. I appreciate you coming by, and thanks for the cd, it shall go with me to the big apple, definitely.

Wikström and Rozana – so sad you couldn’t make it, but I will see you soon when you come visit me (still would have liked a proper goodbye-hug, but I guess it is true that you can’t have everything in life..). Miss you guys! Take care of yourselves!

Goodbye for now Stockholm, see you soon, along with all my precious friends!

This feels weird and sad in a way, but yet so right in every other way. New York, I am coming to get you very soon!

Oh, today I watched a movie called.....? Hmm, can't remember the name, but it was a comedy with the guy from "40 year old virgin" and the woman playing Mrs. Norbury in "Mean Girls" (which by the way is a movie I would recommend). Point: The movie was mostly set on Manhattan and all I could think of was how surreal it feels that I will be there so very soon (for those of you who doesn't know, I have never visited USA before, ever, so why not move straight away??)
